Does JAP mean Japanese? I get this question a lot from people outside of the Northeast. In my case I’m referring to a Jewish American Princess. Urban Dictionary has a great definition of JAP, starting with “a bitchy, spoiled, golddigging Jewish female”. Now, I can’t vouch for bitchy, but I’m definitely not spoiled, and I’m not a gold digger. I call myself a JAP more in the broad sense of a Jewish girl. (You can agree with this or not, it’s all fine!) My Dad used to call me a JIT when I was younger (JAP in Training) and I guess it all just kind of stuck!! And about me…
I’m a sarcastic, funny & slightly spastic 20-something born and raised in Queens, New York. I went to Hofstra University – didn’t even leave the state for college! And after a few years of living in the Boogie Down Bronx, I now live in a small town on Long Island.
Happily married to a self-proclaimed “Rock Star”, who goes by Dave. We are also “Mama” and “Dada” to a little girl named Sadie, who keeps us on our toes and is the most awesome baby ever. EVER.
A corporate event planner by day, and 20SB Executive Board Member every other hour of the day, I try to balance the two to the best of my ability. You can also find me at Once Upon a Stein, which is my new beer-centric blog.
I’m quite proud of my two collections: rubber ducks, and Hard Rock Cafe shot glasses. Also easily amused, and obsessed with: travel, meal planning, baking, craft beer, crossing items off my life list, my android phone, chasing down food trucks, and more (in no particular order).
