Five on a Friday 1.11.19

I know last week everyone was saying how long it was when it was only a three-day work week but oh man, this week takes the cake! It went on for FOREVER. But now its Friday and I’m SO HAPPY!

Here’s my Five on a Friday!

{One}

Dave was nominated for an award! He has been nominated for the Big Apple Teacher award and as I shared on Facebook I couldn’t be prouder. He is a WONDERFUL teacher and always undervalues his own contributions to these kids.

He’s also so humble that he got nominated on a Friday and I didn’t hear about it until Tuesday! And only because he shared a colleague’s reference with me that was so amazingly well written and nice – it had me tearing up!

I saw these two posts on Facebook this week and I was DYING.

No Scrubs was HUGE when I was in high school. HUGE. (And the Sporty Thievez retaliation song No Pigeons.) So I laughed way too hard at this!

And this one. Cause it’s so true! I was more of a Sun-Ripened Raspberry girl myself, but I remember how huge the Cucumber Melon scent was!

Did you know Sadie is selling Girl Scout Cookies? Check out my Instagram post of her awesome selling skills (click to the right) haha. And you can order cookies online now and have them delivered to you! Or, if you don’t want the cookies but want to contribute you can order to have them donated. (We donate to Operation Cookie.) If you want to order any let me know and I’ll get you the link!

I am super excited about this weekend because on Sunday we are heading into the city to see Frozen on Broadway! It’s my parents’ Hanukkah gift to us and we can’t wait! Dave and I LOVE Broadway and this will be Sadie’s 2nd show – we took her to see Aladdin awhile ago and she adored it. She also loves just going into Manhattan itself so the combo of the two is perfection for her.

I’m a little sad she outgrew her Elsa costume because I’d love for her to wear one to the show. I debated buying one just for it but I really didn’t want to spend the money on it because she doesn’t watch the movie that often anymore and she hasn’t really been playig dress up as much. So she’ll just dress “fancy” as she calls it and that’ll be fine. We already talked about it and she didn’t seem to care too much but I’m sure she’ll make comments once we’re there and see other girls dressed up. It is what it is!

I travel a lot for work (if you didn’t already know) but this coming February is going to be INSANE with work and personal travel.

  • February 9-14: Lake Tahoe, NV (for work)
  • February 17-23: Mont-Tremblant, Canada (for family vacation!)
  • February 28-March 3: Las Vegas, NV (for a girls weekend and Gwen Stefani’s residency!)

I’m going to be living out of a suitcase!! It’s going to be nuts but so much fun. Lake Tahoe is beautiful, I’m super excited for Canada (Dave and Sadie will ski and I will be at the spaaaaaaaaaaaaa) and Vegas is going to be AMAZING with my girls and GWEN!! And randomly my parents and their best friend are going to be there too! Once I booked I told my mom she should come and she turned it into a trip for my Dad’s 65th birthday! LOVE IT!

Hope you have fun this weekend, whatever your plans may be!

Happy weekend!
