Five on a Friday 12.14.18

What better way to get the blogging juices flowing than some easy content with FIve on a Friday, right?

Apparently, while I was away from the blogging world, WordPress went ahead and updated the backend and OMG I hate it. Anyone else? Can I revert this somehow? Blech.

Our Elf on the Shelf, Apple, has been getting up to some MAJOR shenanigans this year. I am having so much fun with it and Sadie loves searching for the left first thing in the morning. Do you Elf on the Shelf?

You can check out Apple the Elf’s antics on my Instagram

Sadie has been taking karate this year and she was just promoted to yellow belt! We’re so proud of her and we LOVE her karate studio. I hope she decides to go far with it, I think its such a good discipline. She really enjoys it too – the classes are fast-paced and the Senpai are fantastic with children.

I just watched Dumplin’ this week and it was so good! I thought it was so cute and loved it. Loved the cast, the story, everything. Highly recommend! We also just finished the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. I wasn’t sure I’d like it at first but it was really entertaining! I also kept referring to Sabrina as Carl (from The Walking Dead) due to her uncanny ability to walk right into trouble. GET BACK IN THE HOUSE CARL! #RIP

My skin has switched from pretty normal to dry recently and nothing seemed to help.  A coworker of mine recommended Cocokind products. I’ve been using their Organic Chia Facial Oil and Organic Rosewater Facial Toner for a few months now and it’s definitely helped my skin. I backslid a little when I was sick and stuck home for a week (and then Sadie was sick and I was stuck home for another week) but since I’ve been applying it every day it’s definitely helped with dryness and with breakouts!

  1. Ugh, the new WordPress is TERRIBLE. There’s a plugin called Disable Gutenberg that you can use to revert your site back to normal WordPress. I hope they get rid of this awful system. It’s so not user friendly!

    • Oooh thanks for the tip! I’m starting to get used to it now but I think I may download that plugin. What were they thinking?

  2. Welcome back! And we are watching Sabrina too. I can’t decide whether I like HER, but I like the show. Also catching up on new Mrs. Maisel, which I LOVEEEEE. Dumplin was great.

    • Did you watch the Sabrina Christmas special? I thought it was pretty good but wanted them to go into more depth in some scenes. Can’t wait for the next season! I also started the first episode of Mrs. Maisel but didn’t finish it. I need to pick it up again!

  3. OMG, I agree, the new WordPress Editor is awful!! But you can can hit the + sign, go to formatting and choose “classic” to get the regular editor back. It’s cumbersome to get there, but at least it’s there.

    • You know what, I hated the blocks at first but then got used to them really quick and went back to it after switching back to the old editor!
