Favorite Things of Mine Volume 4

I last shared some of my favorites in January, so I am definitely overdue! These are a few of my favorite things!  I wind up keeping a running draft post going of stuff that I’ve been loving and I finally have enough worthy of a blog post!

Right now I’m loving…

Perks of Being a JAP FAVORITES V4 | Perks of Being a JAP | www.perksofbeingajap.com

1. The Wet Brush – OMG the Wet Brush. As you’ve seen from pictures, Sadie has the most insane, curly hair. And she loves her hair long so you can imagine what trying to brush that mane is like! I don’t brush her hair when it’s dry but even when it’s wet was a battle. Enter the Wet Brush and HOLY GAME CHANGER. I generally use it when she has conditioner in her hair but it is amazing. I am not sure what kind of voodoo magic is in the brush, but it works through her hair like its just passing through the air. We now have like, four of them in the house haha.

2. Pure Barre – I’ve mentioned before but I started going to Pure Barre classes and I LOVE it. I haven’t gone in a couple of weeks due to work/work travel but I am itching to get back. The hour just flies by for me, and I’m not out of breath as if I did a boot camp, but I feel so worked over. I want to make sure I keep going – it’s near my office but it’s a bit harder to get time to go now that Sadie’s back in school (and so is Dave.) I need to make it a priority!

3. Elizabeth and James Find Your Nirvana rollerball set – I fell in love with Elizabeth and James perfumes, specifically the Nirvana Black and Nirvana White scents, a few years ago.  Then I saw this rollerball set on Sephora with two new scents and had to have it. They’re especially great for travel, and I LOVE the Bourbon scent. So yummy.

4. 3-Wick Jar Candle in Brown Sugar Chestnut – Run to Target NOW to buy this candle. There are other scents too but the Brown Sugar Chestnut is amazing and how pretty is the jar? I purchased this originally for a Secret Santa gift at work and bought one for myself too. Then my coworker loved it so much that SHE ran out and bought more and I stocked up on some more as well. I’m getting down to the end of the wicks on the ones I have so I may need to store some more away! They are the perfect Fall scent but I’ve burned them throughout the year.

5. Turbie Twist hair towel – You know how post-shower you take a towel and turban it around your hair? Well, it always worked decently for me, but Sadie is little and she needs the towel turban to dry off her massive mane, and the towel would usually fall off her head within minutes. Enter the Turbie Twist! It’s lightweight, made of super absorbent material and has a loop at the back to pull the fabric through. These have become such a major part of Sadie’s bath routine that my mom ran out and bought one for when Sadie sleeps over! We also pack one for swim class too.

6. Scary Mommy – I friggin love this website. Scary Mommy is like, the anti-perfect mommy community. There are helpful blog posts and stuff but more often than not they are hilarious and REAL. I scour Scary Mommy daily for new posts and they tackle all issues no matter how big, small or controversial.

7. Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer – Recently my bronzer went caput and I was in search of a replacement. I had seen Physicians Formula raved about on YouTube but never bit the bullet. Scooped this up at Target and the smell alone is worth it. It smells like coconuts! It’s also a great formula and has nice sturdy packaging.

8. Lights Out Neck Pillow with Hoodie – OMG you guys. I am obsessed with this neck pillow. I posted a picture of me with it on Instagram a few months ago and just rocked it on my trip to Austin. My coworker was hysterical laughing as she was on the plane with me, couldn’t see me when she went to the bathroom and then realized I was under the hood! I cannot travel without a neck pillow and this one has been a game changer. And the hood goes ALL THE WAY DOWN to your chin. Looooooooooove.

9. Cloth Headbands – I bought these two sets of headbands on Amazon and they are the best. I had two coworkers purchase them after seeing me wear them! The price is great, the quality is great, and the solid color ones are stretchy enough that both Sadie and I can wear them. She’s rocking one today! (And you can remove the knot and wear the headbands without it!)

  1. The Wet Brush is SUCH a lifesaver. It really is. I don’t know how I would get Olivia’s hair done every day without it.

  2. Gabbie and I both use the wet brush. I think we could both use the turban towel too!

  3. I love my Wet Brush too! And that neck pillow is pretty dang fantastic. I would definitely rock that on an airplane. I just started consulting with Beautycounter (a safer skin care line!) so most of the favorite things right now involve that. Seems kinda boring. I’m like, geez, what else have I been doing lately?! lol

  4. I just bought a bought a wet brush and I don’t understand how I lived without it before. It’s magic. Absolute magic.
