Favorite Things of Mine Volume 3

It’s been awhile since I’ve shared some of my favorite things. I usually keep a list of them but it’s been quite a few months since I’ve had enough to put into a post!

Right now I’m loving…

Favorite Things of Mine v3 | Perks of Being a JAP | www.perksofbeingajap.com

1. Kindle Prime Reading – While clicking around Amazon recently I realized that as an Amazon Prime member I had access to their new Prime Reading. As a member (with a kindle!) certain books are FREE for you to read. This differs from the Kindle Unlimited program that you pay extra for. Not all books are free and it’s only certain titles but it’s always a nice surprise to see that a book I wanted to read is free due to Kindle Prime Reading.

2. St. Ives Timeless Skin Facial Moisturizer – I was reading some Buzzfeed article about skincare products and stopped when I got to this one. I have crazy dry skin on my face and no lotion seems to help. This pot of lotion was under $6 as an add-on item and I am now in love with it. It’s super light and since following the instructions and applying at night and in the morning I can already see and feel a difference in my skin.

3. VIV Collection Leggings – Recently I joined this Facebook group Name Brands for Less! The owner of the group shares things she finds on Amazon and other sites and it’s a great place to find those Stitch Fix pieces or other items you’ve seen online for cheaper! One thing that keeps popping up are these VIV leggings which ladies in the group claim are as comfortable as LuLaRoe but wayyyyyy cheap. (I wouldn’t know, I don’t own a piece of LuLaRoe.) BUT, I needed new black leggings so I bought a pair and OMG they are comfortable. I need like, five more pairs!

4. Gilmore Girls – I know, I know. I already blogged about my Netflix Gilmore Girls binge and everything along with that. But is it sad that I kind of want to watch the series all over again? So soon? I feel like now that I’ve watched it once and know the characters I can go back and catch more that I may have missed the first time around. Thoughts?

5. Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events – So I’ve been sick the last few days and just digging around Netflix trying to find new things to watch. I saw that the new Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events series came out (with NPH as Count Olaf) and figured why not. Dave sat down to watch the first episode with me and we’re HOOKED. We’re almost done with it and I love it. I personally think its so much better than the movie and it’s such a smart show. Not smart like, teaches me things I don’t know but just the humor and delivery of everything is so well done. Watch it. NOW.

6. ITOH KANPO Black Bean Tea – One time at a Japanese restaurant instead of bringing over the usual customary green tea the waitress brought over this other tea… I asked what it was and she told me it was black bean tea. A little put-off, I took a sip and fell in love. I don’t know what it is but I am obsessed with this tea and usually drink a cup a day. It’s so soothing to me and apparently has health benefits too.

7. Slouchy Warm Chunky Cable Knit Beanie (2 pack) – Yet another item I snagged courtesy of the Name Brands for Less! group. I actually went in looking at these beanies with the fuzzy pom-pom on top when I saw these slouchy beanies too. I loved that you could get two of them for $11.99 and I have started to wear my hair down with a slouchy hat when I don’t feel like really doing my hair so I popped these in my cart. I feel like they need to stretch out a tiny bit but otherwise, they are great quality for the price! I purchased in black and burgundy and have worn both already.

8. 10 Actions 100 Days – Regardless of your political affiliation this is something you should pay attention to. I was unable to participate in the Women’s March this past weekend because I was sick but I was thrilled to see so many of my friends and family in attendance. But it doesn’t stop there! The 10 Actions 100 Days website is a great tool to keep the momentum going! You can sign up and get alerts on different things to do over the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency and make your voice heard!

  4. Those VIV leggings have some crazy patterns! I’m LLR loyal at the moment, but maybe I’ll check these out. I also signed up for the facebook group.

  5. I had no idea about the free Prime reading. Thanks for sharing! Right now I’m obsessed with my Spigen phone case, which kepy my new iPhone 7 safe during a loooong fall from the top of a set of bleachers. Amazing!
