January Stitch Fix Reveal – DAVE EDITION!

Stitch Fix Reveal - Mens | Perks of Being a JAP | www.perksofbeingajap.com

Here we are back again for a Stitch Fix reveal – Dave’s 2nd fix!

Dave decided to schedule his fixes to arrive every other month instead of monthly like mine, so sadly you’ll be treated to less of his fashion and modeling than you may like. 😉 Let’s get to it!

Dave likes to try on and style these outfits by following the explicit instructions from his stylist, so he’s wearing all three items in these shots – the Hawker Rye top, the Tallia belt, and the Tailor Vintage pants.

Hawker Rye Vintage Oxford Long Sleeve Shirt – I think I pushed Dave to keep this top haha. It’s a gorgeous green color and can be dressed up or dressed down. He liked the color well enough, but most importantly the shirt was a good fit for his broad frame. Kept.

Tallia Samuel Leather Belt  – Right out of the box Dave knew he wasn’t keeping this belt. While it was nice and definitely great value for the quality, Dave likes more of a thicker belt and also one that has interchangeable buckles. It looked really nice and fit well, but wasn’t something he would wear. Returned.

Tailor Vintage Saybrook Corduroy Pant – These corduroy pants were really nice and Dave was excited to get them because the whole point of him getting Stitch Fix was to up his wardrobe game. BUT I burst his bubble by pointing out that he had a pair of gray corduroy pants a few years ago and never wore them. Returned.

It’s a shame Dave has no personality…

Hawker Rye Authentic Flannel Long Sleeve Shirt – Another great plaid shirt. Dave first layered this over the Threads 4 Thought long sleeve tee as his style card suggested but then it made the flannel too tight. Without the tee it was perfect. He loved the colors and fabric. Kept.

Threads 4 Thought Baseline Long Sleeve Triblend Tee – While this was a nice long sleeve tee, Dave doesn’t really get use out of them unless they’re used for layers to wear under skiing and he couldn’t layer this under the flannel like suggested since they were a big snug. Returned.

Do you know a guy getting Stitch Fix? How do they like it?

So far I think Dave is enjoying Stitch Fix. He tried a similar service in the past before Stitch Fix catered to men and only received one item a month and they were pricey. And while it may look like he is receiving pretty casual clothes from Stitch Fix, keep in mind he’s a music teacher! Dave goes to school every day in jeans and t-shirts so this is a step up!

  1. So fun! Looks like he got some great pieces. My husband is trying out a service called Trendy Butler, which is more like a subscription box than a styling service (you pay a flat fee per month and keep whatever they give you – you don’t pay for the clothes in addition to the fee). He’s done it for three months and each month has gotten progressively worse, haha. But he did get a cool hoodie, a nice sweater, and a comfy pair of joggers which he loves. He’s still on the fence about continuing but he has enjoyed opening the box every month 🙂

    • I love that its called Trendy Butler hahaha. Dave is doing one called Bespoke Post – they create 1-3 boxes a month and then you can pick which one you want or skip the month all together. He’s gotten some neat stuff. (Not clothes – different things.)

  2. Is it OK for me to say that your husband looks super-hot in the first outfit? Good snag, girl. 😛
