July Stitch Fix Reveal

June/July Stitch Fix Reveal | Perks of Being a JAP | www.perksofbeingajap.com

Once again it’s Stitch Fix reveal time!

I was nervous at first for this fix. For whatever reason, I didn’t get the usual heads up email so I didn’t have a chance to send Liz B, stylist extraordinaire, any suggestions or notes. I also opened up the box and was kind of underwhelmed at first so I wasn’t really looking forward to trying the items on… but I was pleasantly surprised in the end! Check out what I got:

Collective Concepts Janel V-neck Shirt Dress – At first I HATED this out of the box. I saw the colors and pattern and was wondering what Liz was thinking! But when I put it on I kind of liked it! It definitely had more appeal on vs on the hanger. Ultimately I decided not to keep it. I didn’t think I’d get enough use out of it for the price and Dave wasn’t keen on it either. Not a deciding factor in my return but I do value his opinion. Returned.

DV8 Lonna Hurache Front D’Orsay Flats – I was excited to get shoes in my fix again! These shoes had potential but ultimately they just weren’t comfortable. I have slight bunions (sorry if that’s TMI) and they were too tight. Womp womp. I loved the color and the fabric so its a shame they didn’t fit – they would have been super cute! Returned!

Gilli Kamile Knit Dress – I knew the minute I saw this dress that it would be a keeper. And also my apologies for my dirty, dirty mirror. This dress is the perfect dress. I can style it up, style it down, really wear it anywhere. It’s super comfortable and black so of course, I love it! I’ve worn it a bunch already. It would only be that much more perfect if it had pockets!  Kept.

Liverpool Anita Skinny Pant – I really didn’t think I needed a new pair of black pants before I tried these on but OMG they are COMFORTABLE. Like, the most comfortable black pants in existence with the exception of leggings. And considering my two other pairs of black pants are from roughly 2009 I figured it was time for a new pair. Can’t wait to wear these at my events! Kept.

Brixon Ivy Mistral Cold Shoulder Tunic – I LOVE THIS TOP! It’s seriously perfect. I am obsessed with lace and the white of the top just makes it pop. The straps are also thin enough that I could probably wear the top without them and just tuck them under the neckline of the top. I am excited to wear this through all seasons – maybe mixing it up with some hard biker boots and a motorcycle jacket in the fall/winter. Kept.

So overall I kept three out of the five items. Not bad for a fix that I was so unsure about in the beginning! For the next fix, I already put in a request for some fun leggings and also a jacket. No particular style just interested in a jacket! Also, you can see I started using the Stitch Fix app to share the stock photo of the items I received instead of grainy photos of the cards. It’s also super easy to give your feedback on the app instead of logging in online to do it. The problem is that it’s so tempting to cheat and see what I’m scheduled to receive before it arrives! I used to do that online with previous stylists but I don’t with Liz. 😉 Do you peek before your fix arrives?

What do you think about my fix this month?

  1. I love that black dress! I think I will try stitch fix once I lose a lot of weight. 🙂

  2. that shirt dress definitely looks better on you than the picture, but i understand why you didn’t keep it. i wouldn’t have anywhere to wear it, i don’t think. i totally trust my husband’s opinion as well (though, if i am spending money he is always going to lean towards no hahaha). the dress you kept looks fabulous on you!

  3. That white lace top is seriously STUNNING! I must find one for myself!

  4. Oooh, another good box. I love both the dress & the shoes that you returned, but I appreciate your smarts in not keeping them if they wouldn’t get worn, even if you did like them. I struggle with this!

    • I went back and forth on that dress for awhile but just couldn’t see myself really rocking it as a wardrobe staple. And the shoes… so sad about those! I wish I didn’t have bunions haha.

  5. That black dress and the tunic…. PERFECTION 🙂 Love both. Can you buy these finds somewhere in regular stores?

I really want to try Stitchfix sometime…. sigh.

    • I don’t see the exact Gilli dress but I know ModCloth carries that brand – I have another dress by them. I don’t see the tunic anywhere after a quick search though. 🙁 Sign up for Stitch Fix! You can try it once without scheduling another fix right away, space them out how you want, etc.

  6. Oh, that black dress is perfect! Love!

  7. I liked EVERYTHING on you this time! If the shoes had fit well, I’d have said keep them all because that patterned dress does look cute on you too.
