Peel-off Lip Stains or That Time I Tested Out Korean Beauty Products

I love lip products. LOVE THEM. I used to never really wear lipstick, lip gloss or other products but now I rarely leave the house with naked lips. (And my collection is growing pretty rapidly much to Dave’s dismay.) The only problem is that unless I’m using a great liquid lipstick or other matte product the stuff comes off my lips pretty quickly. From coffee cups and eating to just generally rubbing my lips together or biting them its a miracle if my lip color lasts until noon. BOOOO.

Then I heard of Berrisom Oops My Lip Tints. These are a Korean beauty product that promises 12 hours of long lasting wear. How? Because you peel the product off your lips and it leaves your lips stained with the color.

Say whaaaaaaat? I know, you’re in disbelief. And maybe a little grossed out? But don’t worry – I tested it out for you so you could see for yourself!

You can either buy the lip tints individually or in a set of six. Since one lip tint costs $9 I went for the set of six which was $35. It doesn’t include all of the colors in the collection but I didn’t need the super orange one or purple so I was okay with that. The instructions on the box are in Korean which isn’t too helpful for me but you pretty much get the idea from the photos on the back of the box. You can also get step by step instructions on the Memebox website (in English!) or through this helpful Elle article I found.

First apply the lip tint liberally to your lips – be careful not to go over your lip line because this stuff will stain your skin! My fingers had bright pink on them for a looooong time.

Let it dry for 5 – 10 minutes. In the Elle article she let it dry for 20 minutes so that’s what I did. Be careful with your lips though – I kept my mouth open because every time I closed my lips the product would stick together as it started to dry.

When it’s dry start peeling it off your lips from the corner of your mouth. Make sure everything is dry – if you start to peel when its wet it won’t really work and you’ll have a mess. Voila!

It may not look like much but my lips were definitely pink for the remainder of the day. I’ve yet to try the darkest color in my pack – Sexy Red – but I can’t wait because I think that’ll have the best results. I also tried the Lovely Peach shade and as it name promises it left my lips a sweet peachy tint.

Some things to consider – you need to make sure you apply this evenly on your lips. I definitely had some more product on the bottom half of my bottom lip and you could tell the color was darker there when I peeled it off. I also did a quick lip scrub beforehand to prep. Also make sure you have time for this! I left the house with it on and had some wicked orange lips walking around my local Dunkin Donuts haha. I want to use this more often but I’m usually putting my makeup on in a rush so plan your time accordingly.

As an FYI the next day after using one of these (the second time I tried) I had a random pimple on my lip. TMI? Sorry. I’m not sure if it was related but I have seen comments that some people have experienced bleeding when they peel the product off so maybe this was a side effect too? It went away immediately.

I also made this nifty little video of me peeling off the lip tint to show you. Sorry for the shakiness – I am not a YouTuber by any means and I was holding the camera in one hand and peeling in the other hand. There’s also music and no other sound because Dave came home in the middle of me doing this so you can hear him saying “Hello?” and me responding HAHAH.

Would  you give these a try? I think I’m going to try the Sexy Red one this weekend! While I don’t think this will become an every day lip product for me I can see using it for weddings and other events where I don’t want to constantly reapply.

Do these types of posts interest you? Let me know! I’d love to do more of these random makeup tests haha. I also bought a facial mask from Memebox, the Hell-Pore Clean Up Mask (check out that packaging – how amazing is that?) and I think I want the Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask too.

  1. Ha! I ordered this last week after watching this crazy video for HOURS. I am scared to do it because I totally don’t have a steady hand, or 10 minutes to sit still. But I am going to try!

How many applications do you think are in each tube?

    • Did you buy the pack or just one? You don’t need a totally steady hand, just be able to wipe off any product that escaped your lip line haha. Honestly I don’t think you get much out of each tube because it feels like you’re putting SO MUCH on your lips for one application. No idea!

  2. Woah! That is intense!

I am very much a Naked Lips person, my natural lip color is pretty dark already, and unless I’m wearing a shade pretty close to it my lips look very weird (no peachy anything over dark lips, it just looks BAAAAD).

I also, um, kind of get freaked out by lip products on my own lips. I don’t like gloss, or stick, or gel, or stain…I like Natural Ice chapstick. Ha! I’m such a hoser.

    • LOL love it! Hey a couple of years ago I was only a lip gloss girl. Times change! But I can’t deal with a lip product that remains tacky all day – I need that sh*t to dry!

  3. These look so cool, but also… SO CREEPY. Like, watching you PEEL YOUR LIPS OFF gives me the willies. But I sort of want to try it!
