11 Months Old!

Dear Sadie,

On March 27th you hit the 11 month mark, and the countdown to your birthday has officially begun. Whenever someone comments that they can’t believe you’re turning one already, I want to stick my fingers in my ears and go “LALALAALALALALA CAN’T HEAR YOU!!”

Weight/Length- Your check up is on your birthday (before we abandon you to go to a wedding) but I’d guess you weigh around 18 pounds, and are still climbing up there in height! Probably 28+ inches? You are a little string bean!

Eating- Recently discovered that you don’t care for raw vegetables, if there is other food around. You love pasta, any type of meat, crackers, Goldfish, Cheerios, cheese, and strawberries. We started putting some whole milk in your formula to get you used to it, but I think you may be lactose intolerant, because you weren’t having a good reaction to it. We’ll hold off until your doctor’s appointment for now.

Sleep– Still a good sleeper, unless you are sick. 🙁 This is still true! The other day you were still sleeping at 7am and I had to throw you into your car seat still in PJs to get you to daycare!

Clothes- I can still squeeze you into 6 month onesies, but I’m thinking its time to retire them soon. You have so much clothing in bigger sizes you haven’t worn yet! And you’re still 9 months for pants and sleepers. Little thing you are.

Appearance- I can only say in so many ways how adorable you are. You’re a skinny minny, but with some chubby, rolly thighs. We still get stopped constantly by people telling us how beautiful you are – and it doesn’t get old!

Personality- Everyone comments on how happy you are all the time! And I’ll say that’s pretty true – except when you don’t get what you want! You “cry” when we do mean things like close the dishwasher when you want to play in/on it, or take away something you’re not supposed to have. Or when you’re put down when you just want to be held. But yes, overall you are super happy, and smiley, funny and just all around fun.

Milestones- So much this time around! You took your first steps on Passover/Easter weekend. You went on the swings at the park for the first time last weekend and LOVED it. You also “talk” a bunch, and say Dada, Mama (sometimes), Hi, Bye and rarely when prompted, you’ll give kisses or wave. You don’t like performing on command though, so it’s hard to get you to do it when we want to show you off!

Likes- crackers, your musical chair, anything you can take pieces out of and put things into, music in general, being held, your paci, bottle time, being read to, climbing stairs, playing with things you aren’t supposed to, the swings, stuffed animals.

Dislikes– Being strapped into your carseat, being left alone, us closing the dishwasher when you want to play with it/in it, having your diaper changed (because you don’t want to be still!), raw veggies when there’s other more yummier food.

Nicknames– Sadie Cakes, Monkey, Monkey Face, Monkey Pie, Princess, Punky, Lovey, Lovey-Boo, Lazy Faye (for when you don’t want to try and walk), and sometimes when you need a diaper change – Poopsmith.

Sadie, as your first birthday nears, I really don’t know what to do with myself. I’m throwing myself into the planning of it, since this will be the only big birthday we do other than maybe your Sweet 16, but I can’t believe it’s gone by so fast. 🙁
