9 Months Old!

My dear little Sadie,

This Sunday you became nine months old. I’m not sure what is more frightening, that you’re now nine months of age, or that I began pinning things for your 1st birthday party. WHAT IS THAT ABOUT?

Weight/Length- I was pretty close to guessing your stats last month for this month! You are now 16 pounds 3 ounces, and 27 1/2 inches long. Even though I think you’re SO BIG, you’re forever my little peanut!

Eating- You will try and eat anything! Your current favorites are puffs, Cheerios, goldfish crackers, and Babybel cheese. You still eat purees for breakfast and lunch at daycare, cause it’s easier, but we try to only give you real food at home. And you’ve now gone down to three 6oz bottles a day, and one 8oz before bed.

Sleep– Your sleep is awesome. (Knock on wood knock on wood!) Down around 8pm, and up between 6-7, depending on the day. You were teething a lot recently and crying out in your sleep, which made me feel HORRIBLE, but you wouldn’t wake up from it.

Clothes- I could probably still squeeze you into 3 month onesies, but I put them away. We also had to put away your 6 month sleepers, because although they fit, when you moved a certain way you busted out of the crotch! Otherwise,  you are in 6-9 month onesies, and 6-9 month pants.

Appearance- Baby girl you went from having one tooth last month to having FIVE. And they came in the funniest way! First you got your bottom left tooth. Then your top two eyeteeth came in! You had a bit of a jack o’lantern look going on! Next your bottom right tooth made it’s appearance, and now your front left tooth. But don’t worry, the right front tooth is about to pop! Luckily teething wasn’t too horrible for us. Your hair is getting longer and blonder, and you have the nicest complexion and rosiest cheeks! Those you get from your Daddy. Actually, you get a lot from him – everyone always comments on how you’re his doppelganger!

Personality- You are on the go, go, go! Wherever we go, you have to be too. You want to explore EVERYTHING – and that includes the insides of the fridge and dishwasher. You seem to have no fear (except for the Roomba) and will literally dive headfirst into everything. You also want to walk SO BADLY, and everyone seems to be warning us that it is coming any day now! You light up when either Daddy or I come home, and it’s the best feeling in the world to see that toothy smile! You’re still a mellow, go with the flow baby, and everyone comments on how good tempered you are. Even at the doctors office!

Milestones- Learning to wave, learning to clap, climbing the stairs.  FINALLY learning to hold your bottle! And you finally like bath time! All it took was removing your infant tub and putting you in the actual tub, and you were in heaven! Splashing away and having a blast with your toys – you’re not even afraid of the faucet! You get so happy when you see the tub filling – you just stand against the tub and watch – and sometimes try to crawl in!

Likes- puffs/Cheerios/goldfish, cheese, hugging your stuffed animals, bath time, standing at the coffee table, climbing the stairs, being chased on the floor, walking with your walker/doll stroller/laundry basket, pulling up on our legs, playing with magnets on the fridge, being “thrown” (either at someone or in the air), playing peekaboo, sitting in the shopping cart.

Dislikes– Being strapped into your carseat, the Roomba, being left alone, the snow.

Nicknames– Sadie Cakes, Monkey, Monkey Face, Monkey Pie, Princess, Peanut, Muffin, Lovey-Boo. The list never ends! Daddy also recently started calling you Puzzle Butt, for no reason whatsoever, but it makes me laugh, so I think we’ll keep it.

There’s only two more of these monthly updates and then you turn one year old. Hopefully I am able to remind myself to slow down and take it all in while I have my little baby.

  1. I cannot believe Sadie is 9 months old. I started reading your blog about 3 months before she was born so I cant believe a year has passed! I love reading the updates as Sadie is about 2 months older than my little one so its nice to see whats coming! Amy (my little girl) is similar to Sadie in that she wasnt a great fan of bath time so I moved her into the big bath and she loves it. I end up soaked with all the splashing but its major fun 🙂

  2. She is so stinking cute! I love that little headband and those big cheeks! She has the most beautiful coloring for a baby!

And your new blog design looks fantastic!!! Mine is still a work in progress, but thus far my Photoshop and coding skills haven’t kept up with my imagination. I may consult a professional at some point. Who knows.
