Most of the time when I’m off from work I prefer to sit on my ass doing nothing. But then you know what sucks? Going back to work after the time off and feeling even more tired, or feeling like I accomplished nothing. And it’s not like I don’t have a to-do list. I always have a to-do list! That I ignore. All of the time. (I suck.)
But recently there was a weekend of accomplishment! We got off our behinds and got things done! AMAZING! Besides cleaning and organizing our mess of a house, we took a much needed trip to Ikea. Purchased?
This rug. It’s way more vibrant in person than it is in this photograph. I would link to it from the Ikea website so you could see, but I can’t find it on there. But it is way more primary-colored than it shows. I also thought about making everything look super neat before taking the picture, but that’s not how things are EVER in my life, so there you go. Baby toys strewn about. Laundry basket overflowing with clothes that need to be folded in the corner. Ignore the hideous window blinds. They came with the house and I hate them and can’t wait to replace them. We also picked up that nifty map pillow you see on the right corner of the couch. Dave loved it because he has a map obsession. I loved it because I frequently fall asleep on the couch, and it was comfy.
And we got this futon! Now people have a place to sleep if they stay over. It’s pretty comfortable despite the fact it was one of the least expensive models Ikea makes. And yes, in the corner that’s still a box that needs to be unpacked. From when we moved in. In May. FAIL.
We also went food shopping (at least that usually happens every weekend) and I did something I’ve maybe done four times since Sadie was born. I painted my nails!!
It’s “Girly” by Revlon. Otherwise known as “Barbie Threw up on my Nails”. I LOVE IT! Maybe I’ll make it a regular feature on the blog if I keep the nail painting up – “Nail Polish of the Moment”. Cause I have quite the collection to share!
And last, not so much productive but fun, Sadie went to her first McDonald’s birthday party. And got her first Happy Meal. And then became frustrated when she couldn’t fit the entire toy (meant for babies/toddlers) in her mouth.

I have that map pillow too!

I really like the carpet. I think it really brings the room together, which you wouldn’t always expect from such a statement piece. And I also love your tshirt quilt hanging out on the couch. It’s actually where mine is currently as well!
