This week I’m making Penne alla Vodka – otherwise known as the BEST PASTA DISH EVER. We’ve got one serving of sauce left in our deep freezer, so I’m going to be making 6 TIMES the recipe to replenish our stock. Also because we have a TON of basil in our backyard that I want to use before it all dies.
Dave is making two dishes this week: Beer Brat Heroes w/ Peppers & Onions, and Grilled Mini Sweet Peppers. We are OBSESSED with Johnsonville’s Beer Brats. Seriously delicious. And these mini sweet peppers are amazing – toss them in a little balsamic and throw them on the grill -DROOL.
And he’s also making Lemongrass and Curry Grilled Chicken from the Planet Barbecue cookbook. Can’t wait to see how this one turns out!!
I’ve got two desserts to make as well - Cucumber Basil Sorbet and SLUTTY BROWNIES. Two great pins, two great recipes. The brownies are for book club (I CAN’T WAIT) and the sorbet is to yet again use up some of that basil in our backyard. It sounds so refreshing!
It’s crazy how our garden EXPLODED with basil this summer. I made Basil & Garlic Infused Olive Oil recently and can’t wait to share that recipe for you!
