4 months old!

Dear Sadie,

You are now four months (and two weeks) old! (Mommy is a little late on posting this!)

I know I’m your mother, but OMG YOU’RE SO CUTE!
Weight/Length- At your four month check up  you weighed 12lbs on the dot, and were 25 inches long. You picked up the weight gain again, which is good, and the doctor said you’re right on target.

Eating- We got the go ahead to give you rice cereal/oatmeal/some baby food. OH THE EXCITEMENT!! You have only had rice cereal so far, but tonight we’ll probably give you some delicious baby food – maybe prunes? Or carrots? OH THE SUSPENSE! You didn’t really care for the rice cereal at first, only because we couldn’t shovel it into your mouth fast enough! But I think you’re getting the hang of it now.

Sleep- As of a week ago you were still waking up once a night to eat, and sleeping in our room. Now with the addition of rice cereal with your last bottle, you sleep straight through the night! (KNOCK ON ALL OF THE WOOD.) You’ve also slept in your crib the last few nights, which has been wonderful. You’re also turning into a side sleeper (call the authorities!) – I’ll put you down on your back, and you immediately roll onto your side and pass out.

Clothes- Still in three month clothing, and some 3-6 month stuff! You’re so tall though that some of your three month stuff is too short, depending on the brand. (Note to moms – Carter’s is GREAT for tall babies!)

Diapers- You’ve officially been in size 2 diapers for awhile.

Appearance- OMG Sadie. You have the BEST smile on the face of the planet. Just this morning when I went to get you from your crib, you were lying there calmly and when you saw me gave me the biggest, gummiest smile that just melted my heart. Your hair is getting more blonde by the day, and is curly as can be. The teachers at your day care LOVE giving you fun hairstyles – you come home with a new one every day! Your eyes are still dark blue, but sometimes a little grey depending on the light. I just want to squeeze the crap out of you, you’re so cute! (Alert the authorities!)

Personality- Everyone comments on what a good baby you are! You’re either smiling at everyone, or just watching everything and taking it all in. You definitely like to know what’s happening at all times! You also started daycare this week and love it as far as I know. Your teachers love you, and we’ve only gotten good reports. You only cry when you’re really upset about something, or overtired, and sometimes you give these pathetic little whimpers and your lips curl all the way down – I don’t know how it’s physically possible, but you do it!

Likes/Dislikes- You LOVE your Jumperoo, and bounce around like a madwoman every time we put you in it. (You are standing on a Wii Fit right now though, since you’re just a drop too short for it. At least it’s getting some use, right?) You also love what we call “Rat Bird”, otherwise known as this thing. (The one on the left that is CLEARLY a mouse, but Dave thinks it looks like a rat bird.) You see your bottle when we’re making it and open your mouth wide to eat. You also love anything cloth, being held and carried around, and new places. You don’t really dislike much. I’d say you still aren’t 100% sure about bath time, but it’s getting better. You definitely don’t like being put down for long periods of time, or getting strapped into your car seat.

Nicknames- We call you “This”. As in, “here, hold This”. HAHA. Also Sadie-Cakes, Sadie-Boo, Lovey. Family members call you Miss Sadie. I also call you Punky, Smushy, and 100 other names I can’t think of right now.

You also enjoyed your first family vacation to Williamsburg, VA in August, and your first time in the pool! You were ambivalent about it, haha!

Sadie you are fantastic. I RUSH home at night so I can see you before you go to bed. And sometimes instead of putting you down, I just let you sleep on me because I miss it so much!!
