MIA, and Foodie Penpals!

My last post was August 5. It’s now August 31. WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE? Oh yeah..

• Family vacation in Williamsburg, Virginia
• Dave’s knee surgery
• etc etc etc

In short – work has been crazy, our family vacation was great, Dave is recovering well from his surgery, but it’s been a stressful week with him being immobile, and otherwise life is good. (And Sadie is 4 months old! That update is coming soon too.)

Hopefully as things calm down in all aspects of my life, I can concentrate more on blogging! I miss it! It’s just hard to find the time right now – even our weekends are packed.

One thing that totally put a smile on my face this month was my Foodie Penpal! I learned about this program through Heidi, immediately signed up and was lucky enough to have Amanda as the person sending me my goodies!

Amanda (and her boyfriend) went overboard! I was so stoked to get this box, and start eating (and drinking!) all the goodies! She also included an adorable note called “O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A – A New Yorker’s Guide to an Okie’s Tasty View”, which detailed everything in the box with a little description to go along with it.

I can’t even begin to list everything that Amanda thoughtfully included in my box – snacks, chili chocolate, hot sauce, gum, homemade rub, recipes and more! And most importantly – LOCAL OKLAHOMA BEER!

Dave was particularly excited about this part of the box.

Thanks SO MUCH Amanda! As my first Foodie Penpals box, you certainly set the bar high!!
