Yeah, so my daughter has been here for almost three months and I’m JUST now writing about her room. First, we didn’t move until she was a month old so I couldn’t get ANYTHING ready for her (SO. FRUSTRATING.) and then it took awhile for it to all come together. But ta-da! Here it is!!
This is what you see from the hallway. I picked what Dave calls “rubber ducky yellow”. In reality, I wanted something neutral that I could play with, without making the room overly girly. My theme was basically bright, bold colors, with a bit of nature thrown in.
This space is immediately to the left of the door. Since her bedding is owl themed, I wanted a little tree decal of some kind, and found this at Target for a quarter of the price of most wall decals I saw. The duck lanterns on the floor are from my baby shower.
Close up of the corner – on the left, the stuffed dog was Dave’s when he was little. (Apparently he stole it from his little sister. Nice Dave, nice.) There are also booties knit by our friend Maria, fortune cookie slippers from Auntie Allison and the amazing handmade ball in the bottom corner from Allison’s mom. On the right is Sadie’s hairbow holder! I saw this on Aliya’s blog and immediately contacted the Etsy seller to have one made for Sadie. I LOVE IT!
To the right of the bedroom door is her dresser, which we scored as a discounted floor model from Buy Buy Baby. It was in perfect condition, so who cared! I’ve had the two Picasso prints since my first post-college apartment, and I made the shadow box of Sadie’s hospital things (shirt, hat, ID bracelets, etc).
Next to the dresser is our glider (from Babies R Us), and Sadie’s first personalized gift, a super comfy blanket from my cousins. The comforter from her bed set hangs on the wall, and yes, that is a No Doubt concert poster on the wall across from it. Momma’s gotta train her girl right! (Plus it went with the room.)
Opposite is the crib and some decorations/shelves. We also got the crib at Buy Buy Baby, and it’s one of those lifetime 4-1 cribs that will eventually turn into a toddler bed and full size bed, and the drawers detach to become a nightstand. And that space to the left of the shelves will be filled by a family photo of the three of us that I just got printed and framed.
I made Sadie’s name by buying the wooden letters and mod podged them with scrapbook paper, and them embellished with some gem stickers and hung up with the different colored ribbon. I love how it came out, and I already had everything in the house, minus the letters. Cost me about $20!
The two smaller framed pictures here are actually greeting cards that Sadie received. I thought they were so cute, and they fit perfectly! (The bottom right one is a bib that says, “Spit Happens”. Hahaha!
One of these things is not like the others! Hahaha.
Last but not least, her closet! This girl has a WARDROBE, let me tell you!
And hanging on the door is my baby sweater, knit by my maternal grandmother. ![]()
That’s the tour!! Hope you enjoyed Sadie’s room!

What a cute room! I love that it has some fun, quirky touches, like the Domo & the No Doubt poster.
What a sweet and happy room!
The room looks adorable Lacey! When I come visit can I sleep in her room under the No Doubt poster? <3
I think it’s adorable! The yellow paint just makes the room feel sunny. And I’m so impressed that you actually made the letters for her name.
While it’s all pretty impressive, I think I’m most impressed with the modge podge scrapbook letters on the wall. Much more interesting than just painting them!
I love how bright and cheerful it is. I’m bookmarking the You are My Sunshine print for my babies future room. i was thinking of getting a wall decal that read that, since my mom always used to sing that to me.
