Did you have a Tamagotchi when you were younger? (I did and I totally let the thing die while at summer camp. Whoops.) Or did you play Sims? I was an on and off Sim-er for years. My nostalgia for these games was the main reason I signed up to review Funky Barn 3D, for my Nintendo 3DS.
I’ve been playing this game in the middle of the night, when I’m up at 3am feeding Sadie. When she’s set on the boppy, eating away, I can easily grab the 3DS and tend to my farm! (Aptly named “Sadie’s Farm.) While this game is a lot of fun, I have to admit it gives me anxiety! Animals popping up left and right, fences need to be built, this animal is afraid of that one, the eggs need to be collected and sold, it just goes on and on! It’s like the Sims and Tamagotchi on speed! SO MUCH PRESSURE!! But it’s also really fun – some of my favorite parts are the contraptions below:
- The Shearing Machine: grab full fleece sheep and throw them into the machine that spits them out shorn
- The Flying FruitBox-Haybale-Copter: flying machine that picks up boxes of fruit or grain
- The Egg Collector: looks like a giant egg with boots; collects and sells eggs
Definitely makes farming fun! The game is rated E for everyone – however I would recommend this game for kids who are a little bit older. While I think my nine year old nephew would enjoy it, my six year old nephew would not. There’s reading involved, and it’s not for the super young in that aspect.
My chicken coop, and me playing the game (sorry, breastfeeding baby not pictured. A little TMI for the blog.)
