I wish…

I wish I…

… had the motivation to work out.

… lived closer to the city so it wouldn’t be such a pain to hang out there on weekends.

… took better care of myself.

… got the amount of comments that I used to get on my blog before I switched to self hosting on wordpress.

… that Google Reader would fix itself, because it takes HOURS for my post to hit.ย  And it’s annoying*

… didn’t care about the comments I get on my blog. That’s not why I began a blog, and I need to get back to that mentality.

… was better at not letting work affect my personal life.

… could afford a house with Dave now, instead of waiting a few more years.

… wasn’t terrified to try and sell my clothes at Buffalo Exchange, since they’re probably not cool enough.

… wasn’t superstitious.

… had a garden to plant in, and not just a concrete one like I currently do (more on this later).

… could visit Morocco. ANTM has me jealous!

… followed through more.

… knew what to write about here. I’ve hit a rut and I don’t know how to solve it.

… was funny like I used to be.

*I wonder if the number of comments is correlated to Google Reader sucking, or if I just suck in general?

  1. Here’s a comment for you! ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. I’ve hit a blogging rut as of late, too! Trying to get back into the swing of things but life has been crazy.

Where do you live that the city feels so far? I’m in Astoria and have mixed feelings about trying to move into Manhattan. Also…don’t feel bad that you guys can’t afford a house here (or that it will take you awhile longer to be able to). I’m in the same boat!

  3. You do not suck! Have you e-mailed WordPress about the google reader issue? They are usually pretty amazing at stuff. Also, who is your domain hosting with? That could be affecting things too.

  4. Bleh, I feel you on being generally unimpressed with life lately. I’m so over everything feeling sucky and want Awesome Fun Life Time (AFLT) to come back to party.

As for the self hosted WordPress, it’s definitely a better move, now you are your own dotcom! The people, comments, and ideas will come, believe in yourself! Words for the day courtesy of another dotcom in a life rut…

  5. You definitely do NOT suck!!! You’re an awesome blogger and an awesome person! My blog’s comments are so random. One week I get tons of comments, the next I get none. Your blog is wonderful and I read every post that I see you post!!!

  6. I feel your rut. Also, the same thing happened to me when I switched to WordPress, hosting my own site. Things will pick back up!

  7. I’m always reading even if I don’t always comment—and I still think your blog is great ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. HAHAHA… I guess I have the same first three wishes as you!
    Nice blog btw ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Maybe…you should wish to try to change one of those things…start small, you know…and then go from there.

I struggle with the “I wish” as well…and making changes is difficult…though seemingly necessary.

  10. 1. You are funny. At least I think so.
    2. When I self-hosted and since, my comments are lower too.
    3. I think people just aren’t commenting as much as they used to (also, guilty , but mostly cause I’m SUPER behind on my reader. I’m generally speaking a religious commenter)
    4. I wish that I lived closer to fabulous people like yourself so that a) we could find places to hang out at on the weekends and b) keep each other motivated with the exercise.

    <3 you!

  11. I wish you would visit me soon in Chicago AND after I move to Seattle (PS bring Dave). Cause, you’re excellent.
