New Year, New Menu Monday!

Although I’m not aiming for 50 new recipes in a year again (I hit my 50 in October for 2010 – woo!)) I still want to try and cook as much as I can, and learn new recipes while I’m at it too. We’ve got 4 new recipes this week, between myself and Dave!

Menu Monday!
Menu Monday is an ongoing feature to compile everyone’s recipes for the week! Making it easy for all of us planners to get menu ideas, swap recipes and more.

My recipes this week:

Pizza Baked Potatoes. Rachel from In No Simple Language posted about these a few weeks ago, and I immediately bookmarked for later. I bought mushrooms instead of pepperoni, we’ll see how it goes!!

Soy Ginger Soup with Chicken. Another slow cooker recipe from my Better Homes & Gardens Ultimate Slow Cooker book, this just sounded delicious. I’ll have to time it right, because it isn’t an all day recipe, but I’m sure I’ll make it work.

And Dave is making:

Barley Risotto with Spicy Greens with Tomatoes. These are both recipes from our AMA Healthy Heart Cookbook – the recipes are so hard to find online, so if you want one, email me and I’ll send it over. πŸ™‚

– And lastly, Herby Roast Chicken with a side of Yuca. The recipe for the Herby Roast Chicken comes from quite possibly one of the best cookbooks ever – the Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook. This book is awesome, not only in the recipes, but also because it tells you which book and scene each recipe is from. Arielle gave this to me when she got me as her Secret Santa/Snowflake/whatever, and boy, does she know me well.  πŸ™‚

What’s on your menu?

  1. That Harry Potter cookbook sounds like so much fun! And I'm glad to hear the recipes actually live up to the name!

That soy ginger soup sounds yummy! Unfortunately, J is a picky eater and it doesn't sound like he'd like it. Maybe I'll make it one day and he can fix his own dinner.

PS I've been wanting that Harry Potter cookbook FOREVER. J tried to find it for me at Christmas but the Barnes & Noble in town was sold out. I'll have to order it. πŸ™‚

  7. pizza baked potatoes!? they sound super yummy. Please let us know how they turn out! I will be joining the meal planning band wagon halfway through the year when I have someone to meal plan for on a regular basis πŸ˜‰

That herb roast chicken does sound delish. I made slow cooker chicken tacos again for this week. It was New years Day, i was lazy. But that stuff is still amazing.
