SNOW MY GOD, my new nephew, and Menu Monday!

I hope that if you got hit by the blizzard this weekend that you got to stay home today like I did. (Luckily my office realized they couldn’t go by the school closings like usual, because schools are already closed for the holiday break (I had to remind HR of this.). Regardless, I’m so happy they decided to close, because this is what I woke up to:

Yeah, that’s our front door

Dave went out to feed his mom’s dog – because she’s stuck in Long Island!  He had to squeeze through the snow and our door – it was piled up so high!

SQUEEZING through!

There is a good reason for Dave’s mom being stuck out in Long Island – my sister-in-law had her baby last night!!! Meet my new nephew – Aiden Matthew!!

I can’t wait to kiss those cheeks!!!

Sadly I don’t think we’ll get to meet him today with all the snow!  🙁  Soon enough though.  As long as Mommy and Baby are safe, healthy and warm, that’s all I could ask for today!!!

Regardless of the snow, it’s another week, and another Monday – which means Menu Monday is here!!!

Menu Monday!
Menu Monday is an ongoing feature to compile everyone’s recipes for the week! Making it easy for all of us planners to get menu ideas, swap recipes and more.

It’s a good thing we went food shopping yesterday, because there’s no way we’d be able to get out today!  Another short week with New Years, but we still need to eat!!  We’ve got:

Grilled Flank Steak with Gorgonzola Cream Sauce and Asparagus from Food Network – Down Home with the Neelys.  This just sounds to die for.  How can you go wrong with steak, gorgonzola and asparagus???

– A BIG, Kitchen Sink Salad.  I’ve caught this salad bug from Iowa Girl Eats, and we have some delicious things to throw in the salad this week!  Dried Cranberries, Almonds, Grape Tomatoes, Mmmmmmm.

– Pioneer Woman’s Pasta with Tomato-Blue Cheese Sauce.  I’ve made this before and it is soooooo good.  The blue cheese isn’t overpowering, the sauce is so silky…. and now I’m drooling.

I’ve also got a slew of cookies to make this week – we’re having a bunch of friends over for New Years in order to try and keep things low key, and I can’t wait!  Dinner at one of our local favorites, and then back to our place for some snacks, dessert and watching Snooki drop in a ball.  What can be better than that?

Stay Warm!!
