Lacey & Dave Get Married – Getting Ready!!

Yay! It’s finally time for more wedding pictures! In some kind of chronological order!!! And here we go!!!

The day before the wedding my mom treated whoever could come to get their nails done! 5 of us and my mom got manicures, pedicures and then went out to lunch, and holy crap it was like 70 degrees out!!! Such a relief since the weekend before it had basically monsooned, and a lot of places lost power! Once everyone’s nails were dried and stomachs were fed, I went to my parents house to get THE DRESS!!!! And then went off to the hotel to check into my suite with Co-MOHs Arielle and Allison. Soon enough, it was time for the rehearsal dinner! Dave’s mom was nice enough to host the dinner for us, and we went to a local restaurant called Patricia’s, for some good, family style Italian food. I can’t tell you if the food was good or not, because I barely ate anything! I think I was just running on too much adrenaline, and wasn’t hungry! But other people tell me it was good. The service however, was a little shoddy, so when we were finishing up, Dave went and spoke with the manager and got a nice sized discount taken off our bill. Good job!!

Dave’s mom (aka my mother-in-law!) also surprised us with a cake and very nice cake topper (much more classy than the one we picked out).

We didn’t get back to the hotel until late that night (Dave was staying at home), and were getting ready for bed when I took off my shoes and noticed that both big toes were smudged in a bad way! From a pedicure I had gotten before 1pm! And it was now after 11pm! And I was wearing flip flops until 8pm! WHAT THE HELL!! I went back and forth about what to do… I didn’t have the color with me to touch it up, the only other color I had was a dark, dark purple or light pink. And I couldn’t get away with NOT fixing it, since my wedding shoes were open toe! So my amazing Co-MOH Allison ran me out to CVS at almost midnight to see what we could do. I couldn’t find any color that matched anywhere close to what I had on my toes, so I bought some nail polish remover, got back to the room, gingerly removed the polish from my feet (without ruining the polish on my hands) and painted my toes with the pale pink. At like 1am. Blargh! I couldn’t get over how stupid the situation was! At least it was something small, and seriously, if this was the only thing that was going to go wrong for the wedding, I was OK with that!!

After barely sleeping since I was so nervous/excited, I got up around 8 and watched Arielle prance around our room for a bit, while we waited for Allison to get up. Eventually our hair stylist and makeup artist showed up along with bridesmaids and family, and we spent the morning relaxing and getting ready!!! And I finally ate something, after being yelled at by various peoples. ๐Ÿ™‚ That bagel definitely settled my stomach!

Girls getting their hair done! And me sporting a lovely mask, before getting my make up done!

Even my dad got his makeup done! (He has dark circles under his eyes that he wanted covered – haha!

Makeup all done, and apparently saying, “Hey girrrrl!”

Once I had my hair and makeup done (and I loved, loved, LOVED both), I grabbed my Co-MOHs, my dress and my dad (we needed someone to drive!) and headed off to the country club to start taking pictures!

Next up – glamour shots!! (By Deb? – 10 points if you get that reference!)
