Big news – Dave and I booked our flight for our honeymoon!!!!!

We were waiting to go on our honeymoon until the summer, since Dave only has limited time off during the school year, and it’s also much easier for me to get away from my job for the summer.

Where are we going? Europe!! More specifically?

and Paris!!

And even better? We only had to pay for one round trip flight!!! How is this possible, you might inquire? Well my job is producing an event for a client in London, and my boss (whom I love dearly) asked if I wanted to go as support staff! Umm yes!!! The event is conveniently right before we were planning our honeymoon anyway, so Dave will come with me, galavant around London during the day while I’m working, and then from there we’ll head off to our next European destination!!!
I’m SO excited. I’ve been to London and Italy before, but Dave has never been to Europe. We’re taking the train between most cities, which I’ve never done before, and I get to spend my birthday in Prague!!! (July 2nd, in case you were curious/want to send me a present.)

Anywhozits, this is where you come in – my dear blogfriends, I know you’ve traveled. I know you’ve traveled A LOT. TELL ME WHERE I SHOULD GO IN THESE CITIES!! Dave and I have ideas of things we want to do in each place (Anne Frank House, The Lourve, Heinekein Brewery Tour, that creepy human bones cathedral that Ashley went to, etc., etc., etc.), but we (or at least I) want to know what you think we MUST see/do. Give us your tips! Whether its the super touristy, or the things that only the insiders/locals would know. (Ahem Chase I’m looking at you for Paris tips ahem.)

Annnnnd GO!

I have been to London and Paris…. loved London night life… and Paris during the day.. you need to see the Lourve if you like museums… and I saw this really creepy thing in London about all the killers there!! yay for your honeymoon!! xxxoo

That is awesome! I want to go back so bad right now. Have fun!

  6. The Brooklyn Boy says

Gotta recommend the Jewish Museum in Berlin; parts are somber/powerful, others are fascinating. There's a hella deep history there (Mendelssohn et al). There's so many other places though; I studied abroad there for a semester. I'll hit you up as I think of more.

  7. The Brooklyn Boy says

Oh PS Prague Castle is awesome. I shot a crossbow there, ha.

  8. omg that is going to be AMAZING.

  9. yay we just booked our flights too! and we're completely clueless as to where to go, but that's okay! yaaaay eurotrip!

I would love to go to Anne Frank's house some day! Although it would technically be my second time, since I was there as a baby. But I can't say I remember it.

I don't have a lot of advice but if it were me I'd say in London definitely go to the Tower of London. And in Paris try to spend a day at Versailles. But whatever you guys do I'm sure it will be amazing.

  11. Yay!!! I've been to London, Paris and Amsterdam. I'll have to go back to my study abroad photo books but yes, definitely visit the Ann Frank House, Louvre, etc.). Also, in Paris there is a really cool little bookstore called Shakespeare or something, it's right across the river from Notre Dame. Also, get a baquette from a street vendor, they're awesome.

hi! oh man, i love europe. ok here are a few of my recommendations:

-the london library – you would think this would be lame, but it's not. they have the coolest collection of things there like charlotte bronte's real writing desk, jk rowling's original manuscripts for harry potter, and other awesome finds that had me almost in tears. because i love, love, love books haha.
-london eye – it's cheesy, but i love it and it has great views especially on a clear day and to walk around while you're on a ferris wheel is pretty sweet.
-i have some london restaurants that i love if you want some recommendations ๐Ÿ™‚ i'd have to look the up tho haha.

-museum wise i prefer musee d'orsay over the louvre. the louvre is a must see but orsay has all the degas statues and some of the best art ever.
-dinner in the eiffel tower. first time i went to paris i went with my family and we ate at the top of the eiffel tower which was touristy yes but also awesome.
-crepe stands on the street make better crepes than i have ever had in my life.

-flower market area is just gorgeous and nice to just walk around.
-anne frank museum was awesome so i would def. recommend that. but also verrrrry warm inside. i was like sweating my skin off in there.

and i have never been to prague sadly. so mad about that fact!

  13. That's so exciting!! I think we will probably end up doing the same thing for ours, hah, we have barely even thought about a honeymoon!

Unfortunately, I haven't been to any of those places so I can't help a girl out ๐Ÿ™

  14. WOW! What an amazing honeymoon! I'm insanely jealous! :O

  15. Hey Lacey! I just got back from Prague, Budapest and Krakow. I have been to Amsterdam and Paris and of course I live in London. Email me if you want any tips. Also, I would love to see you guys when you are here so just let me know when ๐Ÿ™‚ I think you should add Budapest also, it was great.

  16. Stephanie says

Oh my gosh! Sounds like a blast! I haven't been to any of those cities though, so I can't help!

  17. mmclaughlin says

I've been to all of those cities, and they are all incredible. Of those, I would say Prague and Berlin were my favorites – although for Paris, I agree with whoever said the Musee d'Orsay is better than the Louvre. It's my favorite museum! And crepes are a must.
You're going to have such an amazing time!! I wish I was traveling around Europe again… especially by train. I LOVE train travel!!

We just went to Amsterdam last year so it's still fresh in my mind. Anne Frank house is a must. Also, down the street from there is the West Church. They do a tour where you can climb to the top. Well worth it. Very cramped stairways (they only let six people go up at a time and they all have to come back down before the next group goes up) but it's the only place in Amsterdam where you can get a good view. Also Van Gogh museum if you're into him. It was amazing. Canal cruise was very fun too. Just wandering around the canals was fun in itself. Getting lost in little streets. So nice. Dutch pancakes are the best things ever too. Heineken tour was super cheesy but we had so much fun!! We didn't want to leave. Really easy to get around the city -just buy a tram pass!

Paris – sounds like you already have someone to give you advice but the high points for me were Musee d'Orsay, climbing to the top of Notre Dame (being up there with the gargoyles was great and it was my favorite view), also just wandering around the streets, getting lost, sitting at cafes. Eating crepes off the street. Heaven.

  19. supposedtobemysymphony says

Oooh – also if you're into creepy bone things, do the Catacomb tour in Paris. More creepy bones than you know what to do with.

  20. Classy in Philadelphia says

Soooo, I see several WITWW's in your near future.

SO jealous….buuuuutttt, where is Roma on that list ๐Ÿ™

In Paris, there is a free walking tour! I forget the name of the company, but it was so awesome.

  21. Awesome! So incredibly jealous. Sounds like a lovely time ๐Ÿ™‚

I LOVE london and long to go the other towns you guys are visiting!
