It’s not me, its YOU

Dear Blogger:

How are you? It’s been a little over two years since I started calling you my platform, and I think it’s high time I said hello. So, hi!

I’ve been a loyal servant to Blogger since my beginning, but I’m starting to get the itch to make a move. You see, I like someone else. But we’re still in that stage where I’m unsure, and the idea of the unfamiliar is stopping me, but it isn’t as strong as it used to be. Blogger, forgive me, but I’m thinking of moving to WordPress.

The only things holding me back? The limitations I find when trying to pick a layout, and add widgets and other fun items. It’s not as versatile as you, Blogger. (Or I just don’t quite get it yet, which is possibly the case.) But it does have two very important things that you don’t, Blogger my friend.

1. Pages
2. The ability to reply to comments

Why don’t you have these features yet Blogger? I can’t imagine they are very hard to come up with, being that WP is on that shit like white on rice. Is there a reason you’re holding back? Are you too afraid of the unknown? Because I would REALLY love to be able to have pages on my blog, instead of linking to old posts/tags and calling it a page. And replying to a comment on the form? Well that would be nice as well.

Please let me know. Because otherwise, I may have to end our relationship soon.

You’ll always be my first,

I am WordPress' #1 fan. Seriously. I used Blogger first, but WP is amazinggggg. Go for it, girl.

  2. see i was the opposite! i was on word press for over a year, and switched this summer to blogger 🙂 but good luck with whichever you do!

  3. Not a friend of wordpress, simply bc I have all my blogger friends here!! Dont leave us, xxxxoooo

  4. Yes! Do it. I hate Blogger and commenting on it is such a pain. Everything is so much cleaner and prettier with WP!

I've never used blogger, but so far I like wordpress! I'm still getting used to it, and sometimes I think Blogger looks easier- but I'm already this far, might as well stick with it!

  6. yeah i'm feeling the same way too, blogger really needs to get on its game soon.

  7. If Blogger had the ability to use tabs I would be so happy. And yet I use WordPress too for other things and I am not as much of a fan as a lot of other people seem to be. Now that Blogger has the ability to schedule posts, I'm pretty much set.

Still, tabs would be nice. And comment replying, too.

I feel the same way too. I've been thinking about switching to WP but I'm still at the point where I'm not feeling it that much…yet.

I do like some things about it (like the 2 reasons you gave) but Blogger is SO much simpler.

  9. I'm messing around with wordpress myself, and so far I thinnk they have just as many, if not more widgets than blogger. Most of them have to be uploaded separately, but I'm a total failure when it comes to technology and I've been able to figure everything out myself – so far. Whatever you decide, I hope it all works out!

I'm considering switching too. I've only been with blogger for a few months, but the idea of pages makes me swoon!

of course, since i'm still new to the whole blog thing, i have no idea what moving actually entails, so i'll probably be stuck on blogger til i figure that part out.

I like my easy to use wordpress account! LOL

  13. I'm so with you! We're starting to get the itch as well. WordPress might get our business in the near future. It's so scary to make that leap. : )

  14. I love the site. You have a lot of good posts here. I have a site as well that provides inspiration and guidance to people around the world. I was wondering if we could do a link exchange, so we can tell our visitors about both of our sites. Let me know.

  15. YES!!!

Come to wordpress. You will not regret it.

  16. DO IT!!! I freaking love WordPress. And wine shots. And you.

  17. I was on Blogger and moved to WP and overall I've been happy. yes there are always pluses and minuses to both but overall, WP has been a much healthier relationship

  18. It took me a while to fall in love with WordPress, but it happened. It's love. It's so much cleaner and easier to use and there lots of fun widgets. If you find a layout you like or get someone to make one maybe you'll like it better? Good luck with the switch!

  19. I feel the same way too. there are times I wanna quit blogger and move soon to wp, i just don't know how to operate wp though 🙁
