Whilst in the Windy City…

I have been in Chicago since last Tuesday.  I’m so happy to be home!!  And while in Chicago, I learned a few things.

I learned that…

…you can have the best meal of your life at Hugo’s Frog Bar and Fish House, and it’s worth trekking to Naperville for.

… one can get lost going to the wine store, even with written directions and an iPhone with Google maps, but it’s ok cause one of you will get complimented on your boobs by a gay man, and you can both write off getting lost as “taking a walking tour of Chicago”.  (And then the wine store winds up being not even 5 minutes away from your hotel.)

… a Pretty Wine Label party will bring out the best people.  And some people, you are just meant to meet.

Me and Nicole

… 11 girls, will drink a LOT of wine.

“wine shots” are perfectly acceptable.

The Bean in Millenium Park is pretty cool, but from some angles, it kinda looks like a vagina.

No? Just me? Ok then.

… things close early in Chicago. Diners closing at 9:30pm? On a Friday? Unheard of in New York.

… I will still jay walk in your city. Once a New Yorker, always a New Yorker.

… The SkyDeck at the Willis Sears Tower is super cool, but I nearly shat my pants/cried/hyperventilated/puked at the same time.

… and if you go, try not to be hungover. It doesn’t help.

… it’s phenomenal seeing your fiance for the first time after not seeing him for a week.

… and you know he knows the way to your heart when he points out these in the fridge waiting for you.

1 gallon!! Holy crap!

You still have a few hours to enter my giveaway!  Winner(s) announced tomorrow!  🙂

    3. You and Nicole look so pretty in that picture

    4. Read about that wine party in several blogs. Ow jealous! Sound so fun, I should try doing wine shots sometime.

  6. I'm glad you liked Chicago, we're actually heading up there Saturday! 🙂 Although, I can never look at the Bean the same way now, thanks….haha! And I did the Ledge partially hungover/dehydrated so I know exactly what you mean. Glad you got to check out some of the big stuff though!

As for the Bean looking like a vagina…can't say I can look at it the same ever again.

  11. They sky deck picture makes me want to cry eeee so scary!

  12. You should also eat at May Street Market if you get a chance. One of the best meals of my life.

  19. Yay for Chicago! Looks like you had such a good time! I need to go back. I've been four times; three in high school in February and once a few years ago in November. One of these days, I'd like to go during a warm month 🙂

  20. Sounds like a wonderful time in Chicago! After hearing so much about that wine party I wish I had been in Chicago last weekend instead of this weekend!

  21. Non Sequitur Chica says

There is a Hugo's Frog Bar in downtown Chicago too (right near Rush & Oak Street).

What diner are you going to that closed at 9:30pm? There are plenty of places open until 4am….yummy drunk food places!

  22. Lisa-Marie says

It does look like a vagina! Alsdso, I'm not well and that totally made me laugh!

Doing things other than lying on a sofa whilst hungover = bad plan. The very tall tower was an epic bad plan, but clearly you are a legend, because you conquered it!

  1. […] matter how many times you’ve been to Chicago, getting lost will turn into a spontaneous walking tour.  And you’ll totally take an on purpose detour to Jamba […]
