From LA to AZ

I feel like I blinked and then realized it’s been a week since I last blogged. Wow. This week was just crazy with being in LA for work, and then flying down to Arizona to see family. Unfortunately my uncle’s mom passed away right when I got down there, but travel allowed for me to stay the weekend. The funeral was today, and we’ll be paying our shiva call this week, since it was in NYC.

I don’t want to blather on about what I did in the last week, so here’s an update in pictures:

In Los Angeles I…

In N' Out

Properly ordered In N’ Out Burger. Animal Style fries and a cheeseburger, with grilled onions and hold the “spread”. (That gross mayonnaise stuff I disliked last time.) After ordering In N’ Out “the right way” this time, I will retract my previous statement, and say that I like In N’ Out. I do not LOVE, but I like.

Diddy Riese Diddy Riese

Got a Diddy Riese ice cream cookie sandwich. For a buck fifty! This place always has a line outside and clearly you can see why by looking at that ice cream sandwich. You get to pick 2 homemade, fresh baked cookies and whatever ice cream you want in the middle. DROOL. ‘Twas amazing.

Had dinner with Katelin!! Yes, I stole this picture from her blog haha. We went to a Mexican restaurant called Acapulco where we had delicious guacamole, margaritas, and great food. And great conversation. And, if you don’t know, Katelin is TALL. Otherwise, I am just very short haha. She also drove quite a ways to come and meet me, so Katelin thanks! I hope we can do it again sometime soon!

And in Arizona I…

P6200014 Walk through the Desert

Went for a walk in the desert with my uncle, at Dreamy Draw park. It was insanely hot, but definitely worth it.

P6200025

Saw some very talented people play with fire at my cousin’s friend’s party. Seriously. Playing with FIRE. And EATING FIRE. Craziness. And I love the pictures my camera took of it. More on my Flickr. Take a gander.

Cousins

And most importantly, I got to hang out with my cousin Tyler, who I don’t see nearly often enough, and is turning into quite the adult. And yeah, I’m 26, she’s 20, and look who’s taller. Gah.

And now it’s Monday, back in NYC, and I’m happy to be home!! How was your weekend?

When I was in LA, I wanted to try In-n-Out and a friend told me to try the animal style fries. She wouldn't tell me what was on them, but assured me they were amazing. I might have agreed, if I liked onions ๐Ÿ™‚

I keep hearing orders being referred to as "animal style" at In&Out. What does that mean?

but it looks delicious and sounds like the trip was a blast.

I always order my in-n-out burgers dry (aka without any sauce). What did you have to drink though? Both their shakes and pink lemonade are really good.

That ice cream sandwich looks like the most divine dessert I have ever seen. Low-maintenance & delicious.
