Travel Woes

I’m so tired of traveling. I’ve been traveling pretty much 3 weeks straight now, and have only been home on the weekends. I’m tired of airports, planes, people stealing the armrest, traveling families of 7 and mean airport people. Traveling seems glamorous but trust me, after awhile it wears on you. You want your own bed, own bathroom, toiletries that are bigger than 3 fluid ounces, etc. I don’t sleep well in hotels, and it turns out, I don’t sleep well without Dave next to me. (Vomit, I know.)

It’s also hard working, because you can’t access anything easily which makes getting the work done twice as hard, and it takes twice as long. And our IT department is NO help.

The good? I had delicious steamed mussels and clams for dinner (the plus side of being in San Fran).

I went to the gym in addition to doing the Shred this morning, and then did some ab work on top of it. Woo 30 Days of Flippin’ Fitness! I wanted to do more arms in the gym, but our hotel has a lot of muscly military men here, so I felt a wee bit intimated. Boo.

I read Pretty in Plaid on the plane ride over since I couldn’t sleep. I definitely liked it, but not as much as some of the earlier ones. Still really funny and a good read though.

Dave and I started our registry this past weekend, and will hopefully finish registering for items soon. P.S. Scanning items that you want but wouldn’t normally buy yourself? FUN.

On the way home from SF I’ll get some more delicious sour dough bread, which although from an airport gift shop, was DELICIOUS last time I got it.

And the best, THE BEST, is that I don’t have to travel for a whole 2 weeks after this event! Whoopee!!

(Please note slight sarcasm, although I am super happy to not have to travel for a small amount of time.)

  1. I totally hear you on the travel part. When it comes to the point where the concierge of the hotel our always staying at in a particular city greets you by name the second you walk in their front door, you know that something is wrong!

  2. I hope you get to relax during that two weeks.

  3. I hope you can relax at home soon! Plus, registering is a blast so hopefully you can go add more stuff to your list ๐Ÿ™‚

I HATED traveling every weekend. I hated being on everything.

Woohooo for the Shred! I love the motivation ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Isn’t registering amazing? I seriously miss it.

And I’ll be up in a week and half. Hopefully the oral surgery won’t deter us from getting together ๐Ÿ™‚

I met Jen Lancaster the other night when she was here in DC for the PiP tour! She’s soooo funny!

Oh wow. I’m excited you’ll get to stay home for at least a few weeks soon. I don’t think I could travel as much as you do, but then again, your job sounds so much more interesting than mine will ever be ๐Ÿ˜‰

P.S. The fact that you fit in fitness while you are out of town is amazing! Good for you. It wouldn’t happen with me.

  8. gosh, the only reason i want to get married is so i can register for shit! I can’t wait.

  9. i totally love san fran sourdough bread, it is divine.

and yay for no traveling and relaxing a bit, woo.

My fiance got SO SICK of traveling all the time so I hear ya chicky! Enjoy being home and keep up with your workouts! ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. when you’re used to sleeping next to a certain person each night, its definitely natural to not sleep as well without them. not a sappy gag reflex comment, but it might be if you got romantical. ๐Ÿ˜‰

enjoy your “two weeks off” coming up!

  12. Yum sourdough bread!

You will be able to relax soon enough and it will be glorious ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Confession says

I agree with you on the travelling part, it’s physical and emotionally draining because like you said, you want your own bed and just to be home. Hang in there and get some rest!! ๐Ÿ˜€
