A San Francisco Treat!

Just landed in San Fran today for an event. I’m bone tired (what does that even mean?) and although it’s only 6:45pm West Coast time, I would not be upset at the prospect of going to bed soon.

Random note – what is it with people on the plane who insist on talking to you while you have your headphones on? I had the unfortunate pleasure of sitting next to a woman who wanted to be Chatty Cathy with me, and didn’t understand that my headphones in = me not wanting to make small talk with you. Luckily she got the hint after awhile when I was sleeping, and didn’t really bother me again. Except when she kept hogging the arm rest, so whenever I wanted to take out the tray (since we were in the front row, the tray was stored there) and had to nudge her to get it out. Because I’m a jerk, and I can’t ask nicely, but have to push them out of the way.

After I landed and met up with my coworker for some lunch, I headed out to explor the area around us. I wound up in Union Square, which was pretty awesome. Also saw the San Fran branch of the hotel I used to work at in NYC. And wow, they (whoever they are) weren’t kidding about the hills! I didn’t have to deal with too many, but just looking up them made my legs ache.

One thing I loved were the hearts all over Union Square. Per the plaques and the website I found, the Hearts in San Francisco was “a Bay Area-wide “heart installation” that debuted in the spring of 2004. While similar to Chicago’s “Cows on Parade,” the San Francisco version used a heart icon, appropriate for a city that is recognized for its acceptance and tolerance, as well as being perennially open-hearted.” They were so pretty, and I’m torn between the one with the cable car being my favorite, or the Golden Gate Bridge.

Hearts of San Francisco

How pretty? Tomorrow and Tuesday will be work all day, and then Wednesday I am leaving at the crack of dawn to come home for Passover. But I have 2 more trips to SF lined up, so I’ll plan more to see then!

Did you meet any bloggers? I loveee the pictures and I usually am the same way with people who don’t get the points of me wanting to be left alone when I’m in the plane with headphones on. Usually I just wanna sleep, I dont like being in the plane that much ๐Ÿ˜›
