[Insert stressed out sounds here]

Today was one of those awful days. Work has been insane lately, and this past week (and it’s only Tuesday, mind you), has left me feeling overwhelmed, overworked, and plain frustrated. You know it’s bad when the minute I got home, I wrapped myself in Dave’s arms and cried. I’m feeling slightly better now because I got out my frustrations in talking to Dave, but let’s hope that things improve soon.

And regardless of how bad the market is right now, my department CANNOT be run with two people. We interviewed a great girl today, and then were told that the company is putting off hiring for 2-4 weeks. NOT OK. WE NEED HELP. Keep your fingers crossed that I make it past Oct 15, cause that’s when the craziness dies down for awhile.

In other news, I’m trying this new fad called uh, jogging. I believe it’s jogging or yogging. it might be a soft j. I’m not sure but apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It’s supposed to be wild.

Hahaha ok I totally stole that link from Anchorman, but I couldn’t resist!! Dave and I are doing Couch to 5k. Or I should say that I’m doing it, and Dave is doing it with me so I don’t slack off. Yesterday was day 1 and OMG the pain. My legs KILL. That could also be due to the dodgeball game that we played almost immediately afterwards. P.S. Adult dodgeball = hilarious! And our team name… “Dodge Our Balls”. I thought it was creative, but then we played one team that is called “Just the Tip”, and I think they win in the team name contest.

Back to the yogging… so now it’s Day 2, the running was still a little hard, cause I don’t run. Period. I sprint, but really haven’t run since summer camp/high school. (LAME!) Hopefully I’ll be able to keep with it and I don’t even want to be able to run races afterwards, I just want to be able to go jogging every once in awhile, and not feel like I’m going to keel over and die, or bust a lung. Tips from anyone who has done the program are welcome. :)

I’m so looking forward to the end of this week. Bronx Underground dance party on Friday, baking for Rosh HaShanah (the Jewish New Year) on Saturday (I’m making these and these), and apple picking with Dave Sunday.

Weekend please now? K thx.

Oh and P.S. again! I’m featured in the 6th Edition Blog Carnival (@ 20something bloggers)!!! See winning entry here or here.

  1. I’m major giggling at those team names. Hang in there!

  2. <3 the ron burgundy quote!

I hope that the yogging and the job stuff goes well.

sorry I'm still laughing at the yogging joke so I can't think of a real comment.

I wish I could even yog. I live in Colorado where there really isn’t much oxygen (mountain bikers here must be mutants!) so I just stick to walking or sitting my ass on the couch! HA and ::hugs:: for the work week. I think everyone is experiencing one of those weeks where it feels like today should already be Thursday evening and the weekend is so close you could touch it. *sigh* In due time.

  4. I am doing couch to 5K too. I will be starting week three tomorrow. The first run was pretty bad for me! I had a side ache like no other. The next two runs were a little easier. Then I started week two and it was hell all over again, then it got easier. Now, starting week three I have a feeling it is going to be hell yet again. I see a pattern! GOOD LUCK!
BTW did you download the podcast?

I need to start running again. I did a 5K in April and then promptly stopped running all together. It’s like I did the 5K to couch plan. Not good..

  6. The Brooklyn Boy says:

Why am I so prominently featured in this yogging business without my knowledge? Also, why am I making jokes only people who’ve met me will get? Probably because it’s 3 a.m. Been a long day, ha.

Glad you got through the rough parts so far. You’ll be a champ through the ones to come, too. I got the faith.

  7. Rachel-n-Ryan says:

I used to be a cool runnings addict, although I never used the couch to 5k program. Instead I used Jeff Galloway’s 5k training guide/program/syllabus whatever. If only I stuck with the yogging (I’m back on the couch). It does get easier though…

  8. Yay for yogging! As a yogger myself, the best thing I can say is to just stick with it and push yourself that last little bit at the end of the run – that’s what makes you stronger. Before you know it, it’ll be easy.

    Hang in there at work.

  9. I LOVE Couch to 5k. I can’t wait until we’re all moved into the house so I can start my training again.

  10. Hope it all gets better soon! And good luck with the yogging!!!

  11. surviving myself says:

Congrats! And the secret to running is good music. Never underestimate that.

  12. i don’t run. i walk. a lot. walking is good. but yay for runners :)

  13. I’ve done the Couch to 5k, and it gets easier, I promise :)

    And happy (early) Rosh Hashanah!

  14. I hope your week gets better!

  15. I did it a few years ago…been running ever since (until a recent volleyball-caused injury)
Don’t run every training run like it’s a race. Slow way down and just get through the runs and they’ll just get easier on their own.

  16. The boyfriend and I have been wanting to be more active… so maybe we should try this program too. It seems crazy enough to work!
