New York (City) State of Mind!

Last day for the Pay It Forward contest!! Dave and I will pick winners by this weekend!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I know I said 5pm EST, but enter away until tomorrow!! (And don’t forget, Pay It Forward means that if you win, in return you have to do the same for others!)

Yesterday on the train ride home I had all these ideas in my head of things I wanted to do/accomplish this summer. There is so much going on in the city that I never take advantage of, so I decided this was the Summer of Accomplishment!. Every time I do something on the list, I’ll cross it off and share with all of you (yeah, let’s see how long this lasts.) But for now – here’s what I’ve got so far:

  • Drive to VA (this is planned for July 4th weekend, to visit Dave’s friend who moved down there.)
  • Go to the Botanical Gardens to see the Moore exhibit.
  • Make it to the beach more than once. – 1 time down, a few more to go!
  • Birthday party! (For me!! Wooo 25! Where should I have it? Anyone have good bar suggestions in the city? You can come!)
  • Housewarming part – series of 3. Yes, we need to have 3 housewarming parties, because are apartment is not so large, and we are super popular. Or something. (We had 1.)
  • Motorcycle ride out to Blue Point Brewery. Yummmmm blueberry beer.
  • Rock Climbing at Chelsea Piers.
  • $1 Chinatown Food Tour – courtesy of Time Out New York.
  • South Street Seaport. Just to hang out, maybe have dinner. They also have live bands on Fridays during the summer!
  • Hang coat rod in vestibule (entrance, foyer, whatever). This is a project for our apartment, when you walk in there’s a little hallway area for shoes, coats, etc. But we don’t have a coat rack. There’s room on the wall for one, so that’s what we’ll be doing this summer. Cause right now all the coats are folded on a ledge. Dave accomplished this. Yay!
  • Top of the Rock. I know it’s touristy, but I want to do it!
  • Farmers Market and Street Fairs – I want to go whenever possible. I love the Farmers Market at Union Square, and Street Fairs are so much fun! We stopped at one this past weekend before dinner, and I got a really pretty handmade necklace and ring. Yay!
  • Bronx Zoo. Haven’t been since I was really little, and since I live in the BX now, why not!
  • Dinner Cruise around New York Harbor/Sail New York – this one Dave added. He used to sail when he was younger and is dying to do it again. And the cruises around the harbor are always fun!

**Edit** Added –

I don’t know when we’re going to get started on this, but I’ll keep you all updated!! And if you have any other ideas that I’ve left off here, pass them my way!!
