Defying Gravity!

Forgot to mention that Dave and I saw Wicked last night on Broadway.

You know that person who is constantly coughing and sniffling during the show, and you keep glaring at them and all you want to do is walk over and punch them in the mouth?

I was that person. Anyone reading this that saw Wicked on Tuesday night… my apologies.

That aside, the show was FANTASTIC. We had seats that were fourth row, (almost) center, a gift from my parents for Hanukkah. The best part is that you can’t get tickets online, but we just walked up to the box office a few weeks ago and these were available.

This is the first time I’ve sat that close to the stage, and in the beginning I was thrown off. I’m so used to being far removed from the stage, so being this close up I didn’t feel like I was watching a show. Does that make any sense? I had to get used to being right up there with the actors, and not watching the “characters” from afar.

I’m sad that I never got to see Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenowith in it, but the actresses that were in it last night were phenomenal. I would definitely see it again, but maybe from a little further away. ๐Ÿ™‚

I loved Wicked! Saw it in September when I was in NY for fashion week. Great memories…we had great seats too, tho more center of the center than front and center. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Wicked is amazing! I did get to see it with Idina, Chenoweth had already left. But the best part was that Joey Macintyre was playing Fiyero!

  5. I saw Wicked on Broadway a few years ago, when I was in college. I don’t even like musicals but it was SO GOOD. I’m glad you got to see it too!

  9. I love Wicked! My much-more-hip than me friend bought us tickets to the show when it was in previews! So we got to see Idina and Kristen in, like, the second performance in NYC! It was very exciting!!

  10. Saw this a few years back in Chicago. Still haven’t seen the original movie. Shrug

    WICKED! IS! ABSOLUTELY! FUCKING! INCREDIBLE!

I WANT TO BE IDINA MENZEL. Be her.

  12. That’s really good to hear. I wanted to see it when it first came out, but we couldn’t afford it. Plus my snooty theater friends were all “It’s not even CLOSE to the book.” so we opted out. And then when Idina and Kristen left I figured meh…

But now…I may just do it. Thanks!

  13. OOO I’m dying to see that! I sooo Wish I could see it with Kristen Chenoweth too..I’m a huge fan of hers!
